No i don't want any tuk tuks or insects, thank you! - Phnom Penh

Day two in Phnom penh and I am excited to say that we found the nicer part of the city (which was starting to look like a hole for a while. Our $2.50/night digs included. A few tree lined parks and open spaces where you would actually want to walk around, and I am almost liking the city. well that was until i almost got hit by a moto twice, once on purpose as a joke by a khmer on a moto and the other because crossing the street is a crazy experience here.  I am still amazed how relentless the tuk tuk drivers (small moto-powered carts for carrying people, bananas etc). Every time we pass a group of drivers, they all feel the need to offer their services, even though we have refused the first one of the friends already. I am scared that people say Vietnam is worse, considering how bad they are here. Christina and I are resigned to making shirts when we get back that say "no, i don't want a tuk tuk ride"since "same, same, but different" seems to be the only one available here :)But in the end we broke down and went with a terrifying bike tuk tuk ride through a ton of traffic. Poor guy!

We broke down and did a bike rickshaw ride.

Our brave driver

ALSO we saw our first insects for eats today on the menu of a fairly fancy restaurant....anyone for beef and red ants? This was followed later by a large basket full of roasted crickets by the waterfront (see pic on the right...and no i have not had the guts to even muster a try). I promise to try and get the pictures on the website sometime soon. Besides that we spent the day at the Royal Palace and silver pagoda which is sort of odd given the poverty of the rest of the city, but still beautiful. Tomorrow we leave for the beaches! Yea!!! Sun and sand!

When you get back to Bangkok you will see the t-shirt that says "no, i dont want a massage, tuk tuk, lady boy etc." I remeber it listed about 5 things that you are just contstantly harrassed over!
